Once, ice cream label-making was very much seasonal and therefore specific materials could be brought in to satisfy demands from those manufacturing companies. But of late, due to growing popularity by end-users and farmers needing to diversify from ever increasing pressures from traditional tasks, FineCal has seen a steady increase of customers making dairy products including those of ice cream. Today, there's a steady demand all year round which means we keep specialised label materials on the shelf ready for the press; and once printed, able to deliver finished labels straight away or hold excess amounts in our stock ready for immediate call–offs.
A recent label print run we did for our client in Gloucestershire, was one required quickly due to the winning of a contract for a group of holiday centres. His requirement for colourful labels that would portray fully the flavours he made was apt for our Digital label process.
Once the order was in, our studio got straight down to work and came up with 3 label designs based on a theme of berry fruits. Once completed, it took less than a second to email proofs straight from the design station to him and not that long after to receive his approval.
Due to the big advantage in digital labelling, there are no delays; no having to organise specific printing plates as none are required. Therefore it was almost immediate as the artwork was put on line straight into the memory banks of our press. Once the first-offs had been checked for colour, resolution and registration, the press turned out ice cream labels to the ordered quantities in no time at all. By then, our print finishing section was ready to convert the finished labels into convenient roll lengths to suit our customer; rolls were individually shrink-wrapped, boxed and transported via our own delivery vehicle.
The ice cream material used are ones that have modified adhesive which helps to overcome the chill and moisture levels enabling better bonding to the tub packaging itself. The label surface is one that readily accepts our UV inks, achieves immediate key and cure and has great flexibility whatever the shape of the finished package.
Of course, the beauty of the Digital label process is its speed and keeping costs attractive. That's why we remain competitive in the market-place. To find out if we can do something for you, why not give us a call or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org – you never know, we may surprise you!
